About Taryn Gibson, RMT

Taryn graduated from West Coast College of Massage Therapy and started work as an RMT in 2015. She has been working at Riverside Massage Therapy in Port Coquitlam since 2018, and continues to work there part-time.

Over the years, Taryn has treated a wide range of conditions and enjoys helping people manage common concerns such as acute and chronic low back pain, neck and shoulder tension, headaches and migraines and upper back pain. She also recognizes the benefits of relaxation massage and the roll it can play in managing stress and promoting a positive overall well being.

Taryn has experience working with patients living with conditions such as Fibromyalgia and Multiple Sclerosis. She tailors each treatment to the individuals needs and comfort level. Taryn has also completed additional training in prenatal massage and enjoys supporting people throughout pregnancy and the postpartum phase.

Taryn aims to make every treatment both effective, and enjoyable. While some deep pressure may be helpful when working in certain areas of tension, she believes treatment should also include comfortable techniques and pressure when appropriate. Her natural approach is a moderate pressure, and she adjusts this based on individual preferences.

Taryn takes the time to understand each patient’s concern and goals so she can develop a treatment plan that suits them. She encourages patients to think about what they hope to get out of their massage therapy session and welcomes open communication throughout treatment to help make each appointment as beneficial as possible.
